2018 Year in Review

2018 was pretty good to me, new adventures, fun times with family and friends, we were blessed this year.

I had the chance to attend Minnie's Rock the Dots ceremony in Orlando.  Minnie finally received her Hollywood Star.  I had the once in a lifetime chance to attend.  While in Orlando I also got to go to Disney World of course.  I experienced the Avatar ride for the first time and it was awesome!  See more about the trip here.

I also got to see the new fireworks display and loved it!!

Since we were in California to see Minnie's star we ended up heading to Disney Land.  I had been once before but didn't think I would have the chance to go again!

One of the coolest things I have gotten to do with my job for sure!  Read more about it here.

Living so far away we try to make it back to visit our families whenever we have a chance.  My husband's spring break was as good a chance as any.  We spent time with family and also ended up taking a trip back to the college that Kyle and I graduated from (it's also where we met).

We had such a great time reminiscing and seeing all the changes.  See more about our trip here.

Kyle's cousin got married this past spring and I was honored to stand beside her as a bridesmaid.  I had a such a great time getting to know the other girls and celebrating the beautiful wedding.

See more about this trip here.  While we were in NC we mad a trip to Lake Lure.  It has been years since I have been back to the lake and it was a trip much needed!

My family came up for the day and I loved getting to spend time with everyone!

So relaxing and a nice break from the real world.

This year saw two weddings, my sister had a small ceremony over the summer and we came to celebrate with her.  See more about that trip here.

We have been trying to take little trips to places close by and New Orleans was on the list.  We stayed at a little bed & breakfast in the French Quarter and spent the weekend wandering around.  Check out more on this trip here.

I love a county fair!  Since we couldn't make it to my home county fair we stopped by our local county fair.  It was teeny tiny but we had a fun time.  I really enjoyed getting to hang out with the camel.  See more here.

If you have been following for a while you know I am semi lucky when it comes to winning concert tickets.  I won tickets to see Dustin Lynch, Lauren Alaina and Cole Swindell on their tour!  It was such a fun concert, they seemed really down to earth and like they were just having a good time hanging out together.  See more about this concert here.

Work has been good this year, lots of changes and staying busy: photo shoots, trips to market and fun times with coworkers.  I'm looking forward to seeing what this next year brings!

We traveled to see family in the fall and I loved spending fall in the mountains!  See more on this trip here.

I had to make it up to see Dolly!

We also spent the day at the cutest apple orchard and had such a great time with family and eating ALL the apple cider donuts!

This year saw the passing of our fur baby Riley.  It was completely unexpected and one of the hardest things we had to deal with this year.  We are thankful for the time we had with him and will miss his sweet self in our house.  It's never easy to say goodbye to a pet.

December saw us visiting family for the holidays and we also made a trip to the Biltmore house for Christmas!  It was as magical as depicted.  See more on this trip here.

Christmas was spent with family and friends.  It is always good to take some time, live a little slower and enjoy time with friends and family.

From the highs to the lows, 2018 was an adventure.  The disappointments and hard times are making us stronger.  I'm thankful for the lessons we learned, the adventures we had and the joy of everyday mundane life.  We are truly blessed and I am excited to see what 2019 has in store.

Happy New Year!!

  1. What a year 2018 was for you. I am glad that you posted the good along with the sorrowful time about Riley. Life is such a combination of good and bad. You & Kyle facing it together has made you stronger. (He will need to lean on you Monday night when the Clemson Tigers beat Alabama!)
