Black Friday Haul

Here is my obligatory Black Friday shopping haul.  It's a little late, I wanted to wait till after Cyber Monday in case I picked up anything else.  I did the majority of my shopping online this year (nothing better than shopping in your jammies).  My cousin-in-law is a die hard Black Friday shopper so when we are with them for Thanksgiving we get a group together and go.  Technically we didn't even go "Black Friday" shopping because we went on Thursday.
Most of the places we went weren't too crazy (except Target, that place was a mess) so it was like normal holiday shopping. Here's what I got:

Velvet Leggings: I have been wanting a pair of velvet leggings since last year.  I have seen them styled on instagram and thought they looked really cute.  I ordered these from Rue21, they were on sale for $5 and had free shipping so I snagged them.  Good thing because later that day they were all sold out.  I just got these in the mail and they are great quality and so soft!

Tortoise Sunglasses: These sunglasses were a random buy.  I stumbled on H&M's website since they were doing free shipping and 30% off.  I saw these sunglasses and loved the classic shape, I also really love tortoiseshell.  I picked these up for $8.

Embroidered Booties: Y'all these boots!!  I'm in love!  Rue21 got me again.  They had another sale so I was browsing online and I had to get these.  I have really been loving the embroidery trend.  These ended up being $15.

Nude Eyeshadow Palette: Another random find, I loved the packaging on this eyeshadow palette and the colors looked really pretty.  It definitely reminds me of the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette...except it was $3.  I haven't swatched it yet but you can't beat that price.

Chenille Cardigan: I have been eyeing this cardigan for a while now.  I love that chenille has made a comeback, it is so soft and cuddly.  I initially wanted this cardigan in the mustard gold color but they didn't have my size so I picked the midnight color.  It was on sale for $19.99 and my sweet mother-in-law picked it up for me for Christmas.

Christmas Tree: This was our BIG Black Friday purchase and the one we had to rush in for.  I finally talked my husband into getting an artificial tree this year.  Michael's had this one on a doorbuster sale for $89.99.  It has pretty flocking and you can change the lights from clear to colored.  I can't wait to put it up!

FitBit Alta HR: I have ran my fitbit to the ground.  I wear it everyday and it is falling apart.  I really needed a new one.  Santa...aka my husband actually picked this one up for me.  Kohl's had them on super deal for $99.99 plus you got $30 in Kohl's cash and we had a gift card.  He ended up getting this guy for around $30!!  Now I am supposed to forget I ever saw it...

Planner: I always love getting a new planner for Christmas, helps to start the year off right.  This one was so pretty and it was on a great deal at Michael's.  They are usually $19.99 but were 60% off and then an extra 30% off because we were there when the store opened on Thursday night.  I can't wait to use it to start planning out the New Year.

Leopard Mules: My last find were these chic leopard mules.  I have really been enjoying the mule trend (comfy and cute) and wanted another pair.  I love leopard print, it's totally a neutral.  This pair was on sale at Forever21 for $8.  They aren't the best quality around but for less than $10, I can deal.

I also picked up a chunk of Christmas gifts but I don't want to show them here just in case.  Did you go Black Friday shopping?  Did you shop online or brave the store?  Let me know down below, I'd also love to know your favorite deal find you picked up.

Eggnogg Latte Recipe

If you follow me on instagram you know my love for coffee.  Americano, cappuccino, latte give me all the coffee!  I love to go to a coffee shop and pick up a cup but that definitely adds up.  Today I'm sharing my recipe for a homemade eggnog latte.  I love eggnog but if you aren't a fan you could just replace it with milk and add flavored syrup.

What you need:
- 2/3 cup eggnogg | my favorite is this Southern Comfort kind
- 1/3 cup milk | we had coconut on hand but your can use whatever you want
- 1/2 cup strong coffee | I used a K-cup
- pinch of nutmeg
- Optional 2 Tbsp sugar

What to do:
1. Measure your eggnog and milk (and sugar if wanted) and mix together.  Pour into a mug and microwave for about 1 minute and 30 seconds.
2. Froth your milk and eggnog mixture.  I like to use a frother for ease but you can also pour the milk into a jar/cup with a lid and vigorously shake for 30 seconds until it has doubled in size and you can see the froth.
3. Measure your coffee.  I typically use a dark roast k-cup and make it on the smallest setting.
4. Top with nutmeg and enjoy!

This is one of my favorite holiday treats!

Thrift Haul

Random thrift haul but I found some goodies.

First off was this velour floral embroidered sweater that I am IN LOVE with!!  It is so grandma chic and I am all about it.  Plus embroidery and velvet are on trend right now.  This was a little more than I wanted to spend (at $4) but I love it!

This purse was $3.99 and brand new.  There isn't a brand on it but it is so nice!  The color is perfect for fall and I love the crossbody style.

I also picked up three books for 10 cents each...yep that's right.  I found three Mary Kay Andrews books.  I have read a few books from her before and really enjoyed them.

For less than $10 I picked up a sweater, bag and books, pretty good haul.  Have you been thrifting lately?  Let me know your most recent finds.

Friday Favorites

Next week is Thanksgiving, how did that even happen???  I'm excited to spend some time with family, eat lots of delicious food and get out my Christmas decorations!

Harvest Bagels: I discovered my absolute favorite bagels!  These are limited edition from Aldi and since they are seasonal I have been stocking up and enjoying them while I can.  They are multi-grain bagels with cranberries and seeds.  I love the slightly sweet flavor and the texture from the seeds.  If you have an Aldi check these out, they also have pumpkin spice ones but these are the best!

Embroidered Tapestry Mules: I found these beautiful embroidered mules on clearance at Target a while back for $7!  Mules have made a major comeback and are super trendy at the moment.  I love the embroidered tapestry detail and for the price I couldn't pass them up.  I have really been enjoying pairing them with more simple outfits.  My husband really dislikes them and calls them my "grandma" shoes, he just doesn't get the style.

Swap Consignment: I have been a fan of swap consignment for a while now and am always checking to see if they have any interesting items on their site.  Swap is an online consignment store so you can thrift from your couch.  I have found so many different items and really nice brands.  I just placed an order and got so many cute things!  Let me know if you would like to see a haul.  If you are interested in purchasing for yourself us the code 25FALLFUN for 25% off your purchase, you also get free shipping on your first purchase!

Kelsea Ballerini Unopologetically: Country music is my absolute favorite!  Kelsea Ballerini is a relatively new artist and I am really excited to see her starting to make it big.  I got to see her perform with Shania Twain at Stagecoach earlier this year and she was adorable!  This is her second album and it is really good.  It is giving me old school Taylor Swift vibes and I'm not mad at it.

Slippers: I have a thing for slippers and these are my favorite of the moment.  They are Target but I picked them up from Dirt Cheap for $3!!  They are so fluffy and warm and I love them!  They would be a great Christmas gift.

Let me know what has been going on in your life and what you are excited about for Thanksgiving!

Free Country Concert and a Guitar??

For those of you who have been around for a while you know I have won a few concert tickets over the years.  (Check out my Taylor Swift concert here)  I heard about a concert in town featuring Michael Ray and Devin Dawson and thought it would be fun for me and my husband to go to.  Our local radio station had a giveaway on instagram where you could win two tickets, meet and greets and an autographed guitar.

Both of these guys are new to country music.  It was really neat to be able to see them before they get big.

Devin Dawson and Michael Ray came out and sang together, they are both very talented and really fun performers.  I love country music!

Devin Dawson releases his first album soon and I can't wait!

It was so cool getting to meet Devin Dawson and Michael Ray!

The guitar was icing on the cake!  My husband is really excited about it and has started playing again.  He used to play when he was younger and little known fact he proposed by playing his guitar.
We had such a great time and can't wait to see what these guys do in the future!

Thrift Haul

I have been doing a little thrifting lately and thought I would share a little haul.

I only found a few things so it's a baby haul but what I found I love!

First thing is this really cute gray purse.  I love the shape of this purse it reminds me of an old Target purse I have.  The gray color is perfect for fall.  It was only $3.99

I also really love the tortoise detail on the front.

This dress was $1.99 and I found it in the kid's section.  Babydoll dresses are making a little bit of a comeback and this was was too cute to pass up.  I think it would be really sweet with a denim vest and sneakers or layered with a cardigan and boots in the fall.

My last find was this faux fur vest for $2.99  I am in love with it!  I have a gray fur vest that I love layering with so a white one is perfect.  It is also a little longer so great for throwing on over dresses and tops.  For he price you definitely can't beat it.

Five Things Friday

Five Things Friday

Spiral Hair Ties: A girl at work was raving about these, so I figured it was time I tried them out.  I was afraid they would hurt my hair but they are awesome!  They hold your hair tight but don't leave a mark.  They are available pretty much everywhere, give them a try.  Also I heard to put them in your shower if they loose their spring.

Dear Hate by Maren Morris and Vince Gill: I love Maren Morris, she is so talented.  She recorded this song a while ago but released it in honor of the Las Vegas tragedy.  It is such a beautiful tribute to overcoming tragedy and the underlying love in the world.  The basis of the song is biblical, talking about the devil's temptation in the garden and how God's love persisted even after the temptation was taken.  It is a beautiful song speaking of God's forgiveness and how He is our hope in this world.

Canoe No Show Socks: I have been looking for no-show socks for a while and these were a great find!  I caught them on clearance at Walmart for $2 for a pack of four.  They have the rubber grip at the back to hold to your heel.  I really like the longer front that covers the top of your foot, more comfortable for sneakers.

Wood Art:  These art pieces from Rustic Love Addiction on etsy are my new favorites!!  They are absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to find a spot in our home.  The wood is quality and have been hand painted.  If you are looking for farmhouse, rustic decor items check them out.  They are beautiful quality and affordable.

Faux Fur Blanket: Y'all this blanket was such a great clearance find!  I have been looking for a faux faux fur blanket for a while and this one is beautiful!  It is normally $20 at Walmart but I caught it on clearance for $6.  It is so soft and I love the look of it draped over a couch or bed.

I found a designer bag at the thrift store???

Y'all this thrifting haul!!  I randomly went to a thrift store in town that I hadn't been in a while and hit the jackpot!

I found a handful of sweaters, and can't wait for it to be cold enough to wear them.  Come on fall!

The first sweater I picked up was an H and M long cardigan.  It is super thick and soft and was only $1.99.  After trying it on I am a little unsure of the fit.  The pockets on the front stick out a little and make me feel poofy in the hip area (which I don't need any help with).  I still like it and will probably still wear it but I am a little sad about the pockets.

Next find was an  unbranded oversized dolman sweater.  It was 99 cents so I grabbed it up.  It has a wide neck and is slightly itchy but I am thinking it would be really cute layered over a button down.

My last sweater find was this really fun, bright appliqued sweater.  It is a little crazy and some of you probably won't like it, but I love it!  I love the vintage appliques and the bright flowers.  Embroidered and patches are pretty big right now so maybe it won't look too weird, either way I love it.  I think this was 99 cents too.

Ok, the piece you have been waiting on....I found a Longchamp Large LePilage Tote for $2.99!!!

I saw it packed in with the purses and picked it up thinking it was a fake and I was fine with that.  I have a coupled Longchamp lookalikes in the small version and love them.
When I got home I did some research on how to tell if it was authentic and it totally checked out.  It does have wear on the corners but that doesn't bother me.  Such a great score when they are normally around $175!!

Let me know your best thrifting finds!  I love hearing about successful thrifting, it makes me want to go hunt for more finds!

Fall Essentials

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year.  All the beautiful leaves, chilly temperatures and lots of layers!  Check out some of my fall favorites:

Mulled Cider Candle: This candle is less than $5 and it is amazing!!  It smells just as good as the $20 candles but so cheap.  This one burns well and is the perfect fall candle.  Similar to leaves but a little sweeter.

Oversized Sweaters: I love cuddling up in an oversized sweater and throwing on some boots. It's an easy outfit, super comfy yet still looks put together.

TV Shows:  I love cuddling on the couch catching up on TV shows.  Poldark is my favorite fall show!  If you haven't watched it yet and you were a fan of Downton Abbey check it out!

Berry and Dark Nail Polish:  I get really excited to paint my nails in the fall, I love the dark colors ad berry shades.  Angora Cardi is one of my absolute favorites!  It is a perfect berry shade that goes with everything.

Booties:  Years ago I used to be scared of booties...I felt like they would cut off my legs and make them even shorter.  I'm so glad I ended up giving them a try, they are so versatile.  They are perfect to throw on with jeans, leggings, or dresses.  These Lucky Brand Basel booties are my favorite!  They are the perfect shade of cognac and the leather is like butter. If you are looking for a pair of booties that will last these are a winner.

Cozy Blankets: I picked up this faux fur blanket for less than $10 and it is so snuggly!  As I mentioned before I love cuddling up on the couch with a cozy blanket and reading or catching up on a show.  I love when the weather gets chilly and it is finally comfortable to snuggle up in a blanket.

Country Music: I love country music all year round but for some reason country music is my absolute favorite in the fall.  I think it has something to do with the fairs being in the fall and the country music takes me back to those moments.

Pullover: My Patagonia pullover is perfect for chilly weather.  I absolutely love throwing this on running errands or just hanging out.

Warm Perfume:  Something about chilly weather makes me reach for warmer scents.  I have a few that I rotate through but Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black is my go to cold weather perfume.  It is my absolute favorite!

Slippers: Random fact about me, my feet get really cold.  I always have slippers on when it gets cold.  This pair from Target is my new favorite.  They are super soft and cozy and I love how sturdy they are.

What are your favorite things for fall?
