NC Thanksgiving Trip Recap

I fee like we just got back from Thanksgiving with family and we are already preparing for another trip, this holiday season is flying by!
We had a wonderful time in North Carolina spending time with family, eating way to much food and relaxing.

My family came up to spend Thanksgiving with Kyle's family for the first time and it could not have gone any better.  We both have really great families that get along really well and we all just had a good time.

This may look gross to some of you but y'all it was delicious!!  Last time we were in Asheville we had breakfast at this cute little diner and they had livermush (I love livermush).  I requested that we go back on our next trip and it did not disappoint.  Nothing fancy, just good southern cooking.

Ironic enough we saw this group of wild turkeys that walk around Kyle's grandparents house.  His grandpa feeds them and they walk right up to him.

We missed most of the fall leaves this year but it was still beautiful driving through the mountains.

I also tried out the new Cinnamon Cookie Latte from McDonald's and y'all it was delicious!!

This picture is really special as my brother is deployed this year and we got to facetime him and included him in the family picture.  We had such a great time with our families and are looking forward to seeing them again soon!

Black Friday Haul 2019

Late as per usual...I've got a serious case of the Christmas busies and blogging took a back burner.
Alright it's haul time!  I spent quite a lot of time perusing the sales online this year and managed to find a few deals I wanted to share.  I also picked up a few gifts that I'm not going to share so I don't spoil any secrets.
Star Patch Sneakers: I've been eyeing Shein's Golden Goose dupes for awhile and decided to pick these up on deal for $19 over Black Friday.  I'm pretty impressed, they are a butter soft material and super comfy.  I've been wearing them pretty regularly since I got them and no complaints.  Sizing info, I'm typically a 6.5 and got a 38.

Cross coin necklace:  I'm always down for a fun layered necklace, add a cross and some coins for less than $2 and I'm sold.

Leopard headband: I needed a fun hair accessory for perking up my bad hair days or days when I just don't want to do my hair, this one was $1 and I think it will work out perfectly.

Workout leggings: I always need more workout leggings!  Forever21 had a great sale of 50% off sale and then an extra 40% off, I snagged these for $4.  Even if they are mediocre quality they will get the job done.

Happy Camper top: I always love a cute graphic top.  This vintage look "Happy Camper" long sleeve tee was $4 and too cute to pas up.

Floral peplum top: Peplum and Floral???  This top is pretty much me.  It was a little more pricey at $7 but as soon as I saw it I knew I had to pick it up.  It will be so cute on its own or layered up with a jacket or cardigan.  I'm obsessed with that muted floral and of course the flirty peplum.

Hair bow scrunchies: I picked these scrunchies up and have already received so many compliments!  They are perfect for dressing up an ordinary hair day and at just $3 for the set you really can't beat it!

Sheet set: When sheets are on sale for $10 you just pick them up.  I mean can you really ever have too many sheets??

Designer inspired key pouch: I've been eying these for a while, so perfect for carrying cash, cards and more on my keys!  I picked this one up for $3 and am really impressed.

Cross chain choker necklace: At $2 I pretty much had to have this cross chain necklace.  I love the simplicity of this one.

Striped hooded top: Perfect basic top, super comfy and great for everyday.  Plus this one was $3 so it was a must.

Faux leather leggings: Alright so I picked these up for $22 as a Spanx alternative.  I still haven't bite the Spanx bullet yet.  These are pretty good, they look really pretty on and suck you in.  They aren't completely opaque but get you that same look for less.

Printed scarf: This was a buy on a whim, I can't wait to tie this to my bags and add a little pizazz.  For $1 I thought it was a fun accent.

Wallet: I'm always looking for a good small wallet to use for my little bags.  This designer inspired one was $3 and looks so chic!

Leopard sneakers: I was really feeling the Golden Goose dupes this go-around.  I picked up this leopard pair for $14 and used some coupons that brought them down to $8!  Y'all the quality is pretty good.  They are really comfy and are so cute!  Another one I recommend sizing up 1/2 a size, I got a 38.

That's my Black Friday Haul for 2019, I picked up some pretty great finds.  Let me know what you found!!

I'm loving all the layers this season!  This flowy layered sweater top from Peach is a new favorite for sure!  Paired it with my favorite booties, quilted vest and designer dupe purse.

One of my favorite gift ideas for this year is this star map of a personalized location and date from Mapiful.  From a birthday, wedding date, anniversary and more this is such a fun personal piece.

Comfy cozy look for shopping, errands and getting things ready for the holidays.  This super comfy cardigan is Abercrombie & Fitch that I picked up for a steal from GoodTwiceGoodTwice is a Goodwill company which means everything you buy helps put people back to work with job training and placement programs.  Giving AND receiving, that's a game changer.

Friday Favorites

I'm on a roll with my favorites, this week is totally random.  Two TV shows, a snack, makeup and a toothbrush.  Hold on, it's getting exciting here ;)

Electric Toothbrush: I have been wanting to try an electric toothbrush for a while now and decided to give this one a go.  I have been pretty impressed with it.  It looks really nice and comes with replacement heads.  The setting lasts for 2 minutes and gives you an alert in 30 second intervals to switch to a different part of your mouth.  It definitely tickles and is something you have to get used to but I feel like my teeth are cleaner so that's a win for me.  Also it is less than $30 and would also make a really nice gift.

Brownie Batter Humus: Y'all this is my new favorite treat!  Chocolate dip that isn't terrible for you.  Yes it is still a dessert but it isn't loaded in sugar and actually has some nutritional properties.  The texture might be a little strange for some (slightly gritty) but the flavor is really good!  Subtle chocolate, not too sweet that is perfect for dipping pretzels in.  Kyle and I polished off the container in a weekend.  I may or may not have taken a spoon the the remainder of the tub...

The Crown: Season three is new on Netflix and I'm a little embarrassed that I am over halfway through the season.  I find the historical look at the royal family life so interesting.  You get the drama of their life, historical events and really good characters.  If you are interested in the royal family it is worth a watch.

Poldark: Ross Poldark made his final bow last Sunday as the show came to an end.  Definitely one of my favorite shows on Masterpiece.  Beautiful setting, emotional and romantic story-lines and characters that you fall in love with.  The first season is still my absolute favorite but the series as a whole will always have my heart.  If you haven't watched Poldark and you are a fan of Downton Abbey or other Masterpiece series, I cannot recommend it enough!

Anastasia Soft Glam: Rediscovered my favorite palette.  This beauty was a gift last Christmas and I'm still loving it!  Anytime I go for a made-up look this palette is my go-to.  This one would also make a great gift for any makeup lover! The quality is excellent!

That ends my random favorites, I would love to know what you all have been loving this week.  Let me know below!

Cinnamon Coffee

Y'all know I am a big coffee fan and I drink a lot of it.  I don't do K-cups that much anymore, I like my coffee a little stronger and I also don't want to be limited to one cup.  I brew about a half of a pot every morning for myself.
I had seen people talk about putting cinnamon on their grounds before brewing but had never given it a go.  I was feeling a little adventurous this past weekend and decided to give it a try.
I brewed it with cinnamon everyday since, it has definitely become my go-to.

Super simple just sprinkle a little cinnamon on your brewed coffee and brew like normal.  It lends a subtle spice, my husband even said nutty, taste and takes away the bitterness of the coffee.  It's a win for me.

I'm not using any fancy cinnamon, that's Dollar Tree cinnamon right there.

Have you tried this in your coffee?  What other spice combos have you used??

Instagram Roundup

Next week is Thanksgiving y'all...can you believe it???  November is seriously FLYING by!
This week was packed full, but good.  Lots going on at work and trying to keep the house running.  This weekend was busy but full of new things.  I had a really fun church activity that you can see more about below.  We went to a different church service.  I also put up the Christmas decorations, well pretty much everything except the tree.

With this chilly weather I have been pulling out my favorite boots.  They are an old style from Target last year but they brought them back again!  Don't miss out on them!!

Shop the post:

I love a moto jacket, this super soft faux suede one from Peach is a go-to in my closet for sure.

I have been wanting to learn how to make these wreaths for years!  Our church women's group decided to have a class making them.  It was actually not too difficult just time consuming.  I can't wait to hang mine up!  Waiting until after Christmas so my neighbors don't think I'm that crazy Christmas lady...

We tried something different this past Sunday and went to a church service at a new church.  This is a much larger church and they have a special series going on where they take movies and relate them to scripture.  This service showed bits of the movie Moneyball it was really interesting.  They went ALL out and even had popcorn it was so cute!

Sunday well spent with a great service, trying out lunch at a new restaurant and getting life ready for the new week.
Also The Crown came back on Netflix and y'all I'm a little embarrassed by how much I have watched...

That wraps up my Instagram Roundup, if you aren't already make sure you follow me on instagram to keep up.
