Thrift Haul (clothing, shoes, and decor)

I have been really into thrifting lately, y'all know I love finding treasures.  I have been trying to hit up the thrift store a couple of times a month.  Here are some of my most recent finds:

I picked up these plates on two separate occasions.  The NC one was $3 and the DC one was $2.  I love them and am hoping to collect more from places that I have visited.  I also want to display them somehow, maybe on a wall or something.  Let me know if you have any ideas on that...

I loved all the locations that were featured, lots of western mountain area spots that you don't see all the time.

This blue is gorgeous!!

I happened to stop by the thrift store on a day when they were doing a certain color tag for $1 (love those days!).  I picked up this flowy blue dress with aztec embroidered details on the shoulder.

Another $1 find was this Rudolph Christmas sweatshirt.  It is really big but will be fun for an ugly Christmas event or just cuddling up around the holidays.  I think it is adorable!

This Forever21 sweater was also $1 and I'm loving it.  It is a lightweight knit and has a really flattering draped fit.

One of my favorite $1 finds was this striped Old Navy dress.  It is such a classic print and shape, so fun for spring and summer.

This denim lightweight jacket was a fun find, for $1 I couldn't pass it up.

Definitely the best value find was this White House Black Market top and skirt set.  The skirt still had tags on and was marked at $98...and I paid $1!!

I have already worn the top once and love it.  The pattern is fun and the cutouts on the arm add a little extra.

My last find was this pair of Madden Girl taupe booties.  I love the mix metallic detail on the heels and the fit is great for fall.  These were a steal at $4.99

Have you picked up any goodies at the thrift store lately?

What I Have Been Reading

I finished a stack of books and decided it was time to share.  I haven't been reading as much so I go away from monthly books and am sharing my reads whenever I get a good stack going.

The Pioneer Woman Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond: I really enjoyed this one, Ree Drummond is the cutest.  I haven't really watched her show but I do follow her on instagram and have a few of her cookbooks.  This book follows the love story of meeting her husband and how she went from city girl to ranch wife.  Being a farm girl myself I really enjoyed reading about her experiences (so funny!)  It was well written and I enjoyed getting to know more about the pioneer woman, definitely made me want to read more about her.

The Fixer Upper by Mary Kay Andrews: I like to read Mary Kay Andrews in the summer, they are really easy reads and just fun chick lit.  This one was pretty good, it followed a Washington lobbyist Dempsey who is caught in a political scandal.  She gets out of town and heads to Georgia to work on a house that was left to her dad.  Throw in a little romance, drama and southern charm and you have an easy summer read.

The Kitchen Boy A Novel of the Last Tsar by Robert Alexander: This was my favorite book in the stack for sure, and also my favorite book I have read in a while.  I talked about this one in my Five Things Friday, it is historical fiction about the Romanav family from their capture to their murder told from the eyes of the kitchen boy.  I couldn't put it down!  If you are a fan of Anastasia, the Romanov's or historical fiction check this one out.

When Light Breaks by Patti Callahan Henry: This one was pretty good, another southern summer book.  It followed Kara who is getting ready to get married.  She meets an older lady and she shares a story of her first love.  The story touches Kara and makes her think back to her first love.  The story had Irish touches which I enjoyed and overall I really liked it.

Big Fish by Daniel Wallace: I have seen the movie so I knew what to expect but it was still interesting to read the story and get more details.  For those of you unfamiliar this is a story of Edward Bloom, of his life.  It is told in a series of legends and stories and through them his son William begins to understand his father's greatest feats and failings.  It is a story about family, self, emotional certitude and understanding the relationship between parents and children.

Instagram Roundup

Cheers to a new week!  This month is really busy, I recently got back from the Atlanta Apparel Market and had such a good time looking at the styles and picking out things for fall (yep fall).  Here are a few pictures from my Instagram for the week:

I saw this sign at a little antique store and loved this sign...words to live by for this coffee lover.

I recently discovered Vellabox a candle subscription.  Y'all it is awesome!  You get a new candle every month and they are delicious!!  I got this grapefruit one this month and it is perfect for summer.

Two of my favorite things: coffee and monograms!  This bag is one of my favorites, I have been carrying it non-stop!  Also are you a fan of Chick-Fil-A iced coffee?  It's one of my favorites!

Five Things Friday

It's been a while since I have shared my weekly favorites and I figured it was time to bring it back...I also had a good number of things I really wanted to share.

O-Venture Keyring: I have seen these guys all over instagram and was interested in them.  The ladies were really sweet and sent one over so I could try it out, y'all I love it!  These are leather key rings that are big enough to slip over your wrists.  Honestly they are super awesome and I am obsessed!  My husband even remarked on the usefulness of it when he drove my car the other day.  They are a little pricey but the quality is amazing!

Adair Sandals: In case you missed my post on getting these Jack Rogers for less than $20, check it out here.  I picked the natural cork color and I am obsessed with them!  They were super comfy from the get-go, which is different from all my other Jacks.  Typically they take a little while to break in. They also have a rubberized bottom on the leather so they aren't slippery on the floor.  Definitely thankful for that as I have slipped quite a few times in my other Jacks. Jack Rogers are high quality sandals and I know they are going to last for years so for under $20 you absolutely can't beat it!

Bobsweep: This was another instagram find, I saw a few people talking about them and looked into what Bobsweep was all about.  I have been wanting a Roomba for years and this guy was another option.  They were really great and sent one to me to try out, I'm hooked.  I set Bob up and he just goes!  I can chill out or work on other home projects and Bob will vacuum my floor, such a time saver.  Yes he gets stuck sometimes and his charge definitely doesn't last long enough to do the whole house but for not being able to always vacuum myself I'm all about Bob!

The Kitchen Boy A Novel of the Last Tsar: I have been really interested in the Romanav family since watching Anastasia when I was little.  It is such an interesting story and something I realized I didn't know a lot of details about.  This book dives into the capture of the Romanavs and their tragic story told through the eyes of the kitchen boy.  He claims to be the last living witness of the tragic murder of the Romanav family and sets out to tell the dark secrets surrounding their deaths.  It is a fictional book but filled with historical facts.  I was so interested in the story and ended up looking up more details on the actual events in history surrounding the Romanavs.  If you are interested in Anastasia or historical fiction check this book out!

Important date art: I got this beautiful date art pieces from Wishfulinkling Designs on etsy and I love it!  She sells just the prints so you have to get your own frame but Michael's or Hobby Lobby have you covered.  Each print is a special date and location, I decided to showcase where we met, got engaged and where we got married.  I love the timeline it shows and the going back and thinking about those places and times in our life.

Forever21 Clearance Haul

I haven't been to Forever21 in a hot minute.  Our closest one shut down there big store and moved into a tiny baby store that just isn't the Forever21 experience.  We have one at the outlets but that is just a little too far away to go regularly.  We happened to be at the outlets a couple of weeks ago celebrating my husband's birthday and I of course stopped in.  They were having an extra 50% off clearance items and I found a few goodies.

The first thing was this studded black denim jacket and I am obsessed with it!  It is an oversized fit and so super comfy!  It was on clearance for $19 and I got it for $9.50.

I also picked up this blazer that is a sweatshirt material and I love it!  So crazy comfy and perfect for when you want to look a little nicer but don't want to feel restricted and uncomfortable.  It ended up being $3.50

I have been wanting a good t-shirt dress for a long time and am so excited for these!!  They have a really pretty criss cross detail and a flowy silhouette, so comfy and perfect for pairing with sneakers and a denim jacket.  They were around $4 each.

I have been on the search for a small wallet for so long, this one was $1.50 and I really liked the layout and the size is great.  I plan on using this one for travel and when I carry smaller bags.

My last find were these really fun hoop stud earrings.  I have seen these types of earrings on youtube and instagram and really wanted some for myself.  These were $1.50 for two.
