Summer Happenings

Alright so obviously this post is super late, I've been crazy slacking on blog posts and I had this one semi finished so thought I would go ahead and share our going-ons from the past couple of months.

As we just moved and are getting settled in I decided to paint some pieces of furniture that have been on my to-do list for years!  I love how they turned out and am planning a blog post on them soon!

Our move has brought us so much closer to our families which has been wonderful!  We are so lucky to have access to a lake house on Lake Lure.  We have been there maybe 3 times in five years.  Since we moved I've been there twice and we are already planning a hopeful third trip.
So nice to relax and get away from everything!

We were able to walk around the Flowering Bridge.  Every time I go back they have added something new!  This mirror wall was so cute!

Necessities: magazine (I love Our State), cold drink and beach bag, also LOTS of sunscreen!

Pretty much unpacked all the boxes and getting semi-settled.  South Carolina is finally feeling like home.

Exploring our new town, we walked around the cutest little park area and will definitely be back!  We've really been enjoying taking walks and exploring parks around town.

Also so excited that we have a Brusters nearby!  So So So good!  This flavor was Blueberry Cobbler and it was delicious!  I still want to try the wedding cake flavor!

We celebrated 6 years this year and are so incredibly blessed!

Work has definitely kept us both busy, enjoying time together and this new adventure.
Hope you all are doing well and staying safe!

Weekend in NC

My husband had spring break (shouldn't everyone have a spring break????) so I took the opportunity to take some time off work and we took a trip to see our families.  We spent the first half of the week with my family and the second half with his.  Since we live 6-8 hours away it was so great to get the chance to see everyone.

I said we were on "spring break" but we had two different days of snow.  It was definitely pretty to see but I prefer it when I don't have anywhere to go.

My littlest sister had her 19th Birthday (what??) a couple of days before we were there and she wanted to take a day trip to Boone, NC.  This is home to Appalachian State University which is where I graduated school and met my husband.  We stopped in the Mast General store and picked up one of these cute mugs.

It ended up being me, my husband, my two sisters (Rae and Christy), Rae's boyfriend and my parents.

I had such a great time walking around campus and seeing old spots.  Students were on spring break so the campus was a ghost town.  That meant more options for cute pictures that would usually be full of people.

I made sure to get a picture in front of the sign...believe it or not I had never gotten one.

Such a good day spent with family!

We walked around King Street downtown and stopped in some cute stores, so many new ones since I graduated.

My littlest sister just started her own blog, go check it out here.

The second half of the trip we spent time with my husband's side of the family and really just took time to relax and hang out.  I actually didn't get any pictures (#fail) but we had a great time!

Southern Women's show, bass pro and Jessa Duggar Sewald

I don't know about y'all but our weekends tend to be a lot of relaxing around the house and not much going on.  I'm not complaining I love a good relaxing day (can you say messy hair, sweatpants and no makeup?) but every once in a while I do like to go out and have a little adventure.

My husband is pretty much the sweetest thing and he agreed to go with me to the Southern Women's Show in Birmingham.  Not gonna lie I wanted to go because Jessa Duggar Sewald was going to speak.  We had a great time, walked around, had a little date night dinner and did some shopping.  It's good to go out every once in a while :)

They are so sweet!

And we just might be on TLC ;)

We got to meet the Sewalds.

I brought my book for them to sign because I'm cool like that ;)

Some of the booths at the show:

And to thank my husband for an estrogen filled day we stopped at the Bass Pro shop for a little testosterone.  This one is really neat since the drive in you go through the woods and past a few ponds. It's one of the prettiest bass pros I have been at.

Life this week

What's been going on this past week;

So this actually wasn't this week (but it wasn't too long ago).  My husband and father in law love to go to baseball games.  I like to go, its the sitting for 9 innings that I'm not crazy about. I love the atmosphere though and just hanging out.  Oh and until this game I had never had a hot dog at a baseball game...I know I'm so un-american.

Here's my first official baseball game hotdog, I was pretty excited about it an it did not disappoint.

It was such beautiful weather and even though the home team lost it was a great time! (Check out our old man photobomber...)

I have been crafting like crazy y'all, seriously I have like 3 projects going on right now on our front porch alone.   I mean we are moving into a big nice house soon so I've gotta get my stuff pretty.  I'm planning to do some blog posts in the future, but here's a sneak peek:
