Five Things Friday

Five Things Friday

Tarte Tartelette Matte Palette: This has been my go to palette for my daily makeup routine.  The colors are perfect for everyday, pigment is great and they are super blendable.  They are also all matte which is perfect for easy looks.

Anne of Green Gables: I'm jumping back into my childhood guys.  My mom got me the trilogy DVD set for Christmas and I have been getting my Anne Shirley on.  I just love the dramatic-ness of Anne and the romance between her and Gilbert (Ahhh Gilbert Blythe).  If you have never seen it I cannot recommend it enough.

Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in Honey: This color is so easy to wear.  It is a flattering slightly glossy pink that is perfect for spring and summer.  It goes on nicely, feels great on your lips (moisturizing and not sticky) and then it leaves a pretty stain on your lips.

Chick-Fil-A Original Iced Coffee: guys this is my favorite iced coffee from a fast food place EVER!!!  The original is where it's at.  It has this rich, not too sweet flavor that almost has a hint of mocha flavoring.  It is my guilty pleasure and I would pick this over Starbucks...yep it's that good.

OPI Dulce De Leche: Rediscovered this in my nail polish drawer and I'm in love.  It is the perfect nude.  Not too pinky but not too tan.  For my pale skin it's hard to find a good nude that doesn't look weird.  This one is my favorite.  I've also really been into neutral ladylike colors on my nails recently.  I just feel like it gives off a classy vibe, and I'm digging it.

Magic Kingdom must eats

You already know that I went to Disney for a week (for work???) I had the best time!  I also got to try all kinds of food.  Now theme parks are notorious for up-charging mediocre food.  Disney is a culprit of this as well, however, I did find a few winners that I would totally buy again:

1. Pot Roast Mac and Cheese from The Friar's Nook in Magic Kingdom: I am a Mac and Cheese connoisseur and enthusiast so I had to find the best mac and cheese in all of Disney.  This is pricey at $8 a bowl but the mac and cheese was deliciously creamy and cheesy, the pot roast tender and well marinated I just needed a little more meat.  It was delicious and big enough to share.

2. Dole Whip: Alright so this is that Disney treat that everyone raves about.  I was so excited to have my first one.  It was good but I don't know if I would buy it again.  It is really pineappley.  I heard there were vanilla swirl dole whips but unfortunately not in Magic Kingdom.  I would love to try a vanilla one, I think the combo of vanilla and pineapple would make it a little more my style and tone down the pineapple just a little (like a delicious pineapple and cream).

3. Lefou's Brew: This was from Gaston's Tavern and definitely could be shared.  It was fun to try and really interesting flavor.  It is a frozen apple juice with marshmallow syrup flavor and a passionfruit foam.  Sounds crazy weird but it was really good.

4: Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel: Ahhh I think this was my favorite treat of all!  I would pick this up everytime I go to Disney!!  It is only found in Tomorrowland and is one of the cheapest treats at $4.  It's a delicious pretzel filled with an even more delicious sweet cream cheese filling.  It's nice and warm and so delicious!  Highly highly recommend.

Five things Friday

Five things Friday

Real Techniques Blush Brush: I had heard about these brushes on YouTube for quite some time and saw them at Kohls for a decent price.  My sweet husband picked up a couple for me for Christmas.  I love them!  They are super soft, hold product well and blend nicely.  The structure of the brush is also nice I just wish that the bottoms weren't so big, makes it harder to store and travel.

Gold cross necklace: if you have been following me on Instagram (which if you aren't you totally should be) you will have seen my cross necklace in pretty much all my ootd posts.  I love how simple and dainty it is and how I can layer it with lots of other necklaces.

The Bachelor: Now you know this girl is pretty obsessed with the fakey, drama filled, hot mess that is The Bachelor.  This season does not disappoint.  Ben is a total sweetheart and the girls are crazy and in love after talking to him once but I'm sucked in once again.  This next week is the Women Tell All so you know crazy is gonna hit the fan and then two weeks is the finale!  Where are all my Bachelor fans at?

But First Coffee Mug: My mug actually has a black lid since I got it from the People box.  It is so cute!  Very high quality, doesn't leak and keeps my liquid hot!  What more could you want from a cute thermal mug?  Oh and it's very instagramable ;)

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb: Ahhh talk about sweet luxurious smells this perfume is beautiful! The price tag is not so beautiful, however. I have a teeny sample bottle right now that I am slowly rationing.  It is girly yet grown up.  I am in love!!

DisneyWorld for a week??

I am such a big Disney fan.  I know all the songs, love the characters and have seen all the movies.  When I was presented with the option to got to DisneyWorld for 5 days for work I was all about it.  (Seriously...this is real life!!)

I got the chance to do all the parks (some multiple times), eat all kinds of food, and just enjoy Disney.
I absolutely LOVED it!  Here are some pictures from my trip:

Loved Tower of Terror!  This was my first time to Hollywood Studios and I loved it!!

Frozen Sing-a-long, the hosts were hilarious!  I still don't get all the fuss about Frozen but they were great!

Beauty and the Beast show!!

Fantaismic!!

Anybody else get a headache from their Minnie ears??  Love these sparkly ones though!!

The Beast's Castle, the Be Our Guest restaurant is right in front of this but is CRAZY to get a reservation (seriously you have to reserve 180 days ahead!?!)

Ariel's Grotto

We managed to see the Celebrate the Magic show where they project pictures onto the Cinderella castle.  I had never seen it before and absolutely LOVED it!!  It was one of my favorite shows of the week!

Oh I just can't wait to be king! - The Lion King

And at last I see the light - Tangled (Love this part in the movie!  Anyone else think this movie is so much better than Frozen??)

Up!  (Aren't those balloons adorable??)

I had so much fun!  It was such a wonderful week!

Check out my post on things you have to eat at Magic Kingdom.

Favorite lip products for Spring

Favorite lip products for Spring

Spring is in the air and with that comes brighter colors, in nature, your clothes and makeup.

Here are my three favorite lip products that I love to bring out in the spring time:

NYX Simply Pink in SP01: I love NYX, high quality, drugstore price.  This line of lippies is all shades of pink.  I have the first one and it's just that a pretty, girly shade of pink.  Not too pink that you look like bubblegum but enough to wake up your face.

Rimmel The Only One in Naughty Nude: I picked this one up on a whim and it's my first Rimmel lippie, but it won't be my last.  The shade says nude but it's really more of a rosey pink.  It feels great, stains your lips a nice color and lasts and lasts. I love colors I don't really have to think about and this one is great.

Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in Honey: I have had this one for a year and bought it because of recommendations on YouTube.  Ahhh it is one of my absolute favorites.  Easy to apply, flattering color and just enough gloss.  It also stays on well and adds a little stain.

As you can tell pinky colors are my choice for spring.  I'm more of a mauve girl in the fall and winter but I like to crack open some bright colors and wake up my face when the weather gets warm.

Five things Friday

Five things Friday

Another week another weekly favorite:

Caribou Daybreak K-Cups: I picked these up from Big Lots and they quickly became the favorite coffee in our house.  I love a light roast coffee and this one is tops.  The flavor is light but still tastes like coffee and mixes really well with my coconut creamer.

Remington 1 1/2 inch curling wand: Still raving about my Christmas presents...sorry.  This was yet another gift from my husband and I am in love with it!  It is such a great curling wand.  My hair had a hard time holding curl before but now it will last all day with this one.  The size is great as well, not too big, not too small.

KitchenAid 5-Speed Hand Mixer: My husband wins in the present department this year.  He really has a hard time with Christmas, Valentine's and my birthday all in the span of less than 3 months.  He picked this adorable mixer for me for my birthday and I love it!!  I have been without a mixer since we moved and ahh I have been missing one.  This color is so adorable and ahhhh the quality!  KitchenAid you just win.

Downton Abbey: This is a favorite yet an unfavorite.  I am so sad that Downton Abbey is over!!  This show has been one of my absolute favorites for six seasons.  I loved the finale and how they brought everyone's stories full circle.  Everyone got a happy ending...Edith, Mary, Mrs. Crawley, even Barrow.  The character development was great, I am going to miss these characters so much!  If you haven't watched it I cannot recommend it enough.  Beautiful costumes, amazing storyline, amazing characters to go along with it and beautiful scenery.

Sam Edelman Penny Riding Boots: I have been wanting a pair of real leather riding boots for years but never wanted to shell out that money.  I found this pair at Belk that I fell in love with and while still expensive weren't quite as bad as a pair of Fryes.  For my birthday I asked for Belk giftcards and stacked them up to buy these babies.  Oh My Goodness they are Beautiful!!  When I pulled them out of the box they just smelled like leather (ahhh!).  They fit wonderfully (true to size) but being leather boots they are tight to begin with.  So right my toes were cramped, seriously before they stretched out my toes went numb.  Don't worry they are supposed to be like that.  They stretch out beautifully and mold to your feet perfectly.  Love love love them!

What I Read In February

Anyone else feel like January speed by and we pretty much skipped February??  Yep this year is flying by!  I read two books:

Paper Towns by John Green: I borrowed this book from my sister.  I wanted to read it since The Fault In Our Stars was great.  This was a little too depressed teen upset with life and how to be different/not fit in. Again with a little bit of a love story and a damaged/loner cast of characters.  Story was just ok, I did feel like it was dragged on a little.  I haven't seen the movie but heard it wasn't good. Opinions?

Room by Emma Donoghue: This was such an interesting read, beautiful, haunting and filled with both dark and light moments.  The perspective of the book is told by the young boy who is locked in a room with his young mother who was kidnapped years before.  The story is great and you fall in love with the characters.  The mother is such an admirable character in the way she is so brave and makes this world for her son.  The movie is out and I'm all set to watch.

I would love to know if you have read these or other books!
