Five Things Friday

Five Things Friday

It's the last Friday before Christmas!!  Here are a few things I have been loving:

Fitbit Decorative Covers: I picked these up on clearance at Target and thought they were really cute.  They add a little something to my FitBit and make it look more like a cute watch or bracelet instead of the boring blocky look.

Simple Addiction Leggings: These are the softest leggings ever!  They have a nice wide waistband that supports you and if comfortable to wear.  They are also less than $10.  Seriously the softest leggings I have ever owned.

Starbucks Holiday Drinks and Cups: I think this year is one of the prettiest red cup years for Starbucks.  I love the winter wonderland scene, the deer, the dreamcatchers, I love them all!  I have also really been enjoying the Chestnut Praline Latte, I look forward to that baby all year!  What's your favorite Holiday Starbucks drink?

Montana Silversmith Necklace: If you haven't read my review on this necklace (and other things) go here.  I am in love with it!  It has a little southwestern flair and I love the fit.  The stone, turquoise and tassel know the way to my heart.

HipStik Tights: So I talked about my favorite leggings well these are my favorite tights!  They are from a company that I have fallen in love with.  Their ideas for fitting women and providing products that are high quality are pretty cool.  These tights have a wide lace band so they are comfortable and don't dig into your stomach, or roll down.  They also have a silicone strip so they stay put.  Go check them out if you ever wear tights they are the BEST!

What have you been loving this week?

Blame it all on my roots

My worn in scuffed up cowgirl boots will forever be one of my favorite pairs of shoes I own.  I have so many memories made in those boots.  From fairs to concerts they have been through it.  Even though I live far from the family farm and haven't worn my boots in months I will always have a little cowgirl in me.
Montana Silversmith is a brand very well known in the world of cowgirl jewelry.  If you have been to a western store chances are they had at least a couple Montana Silversmith pieces.  Now for those of you who don't own a pair of cowgirl boots, don't stray away, they have subdued jewelry pieces and just pretty pieces in general.  Also the western look is back in these days so hit them up.
I had the chance to choose a few pieces and share my thoughts.

My first item was the River Lights Turning Streams Ring.  Their jewelry is super high quality and absolutely beautiful!  They come packaged in nice velvet boxes that are perfect for gifts and storage.

I am a big fan of turquoise and I absolutely fell in love with this ring.  I loved the design and the iridescent stone accents.  My only complaint is that my fingers are on the smaller size and the smallest size they offer is a 6.  It works but is just a little too big.

I loved the simplicity of these Silver Horsehead Earrings.  They are perfectly dainty and subtle.  Perfect for letting your love of horses show without overdoing it.

My last and probably my favorite piece is this Rock 47 Retro Flair Geometric Swag Fringe Necklace.   I love the turquoise stones and the fringe detail is fun.  I can see pairing this with so many outfits and I already have some planned this week.  It's perfect for adding a little western charm to your outfit without being too overly cowgirl.  This would be so cute peeking out from under a denim shirt or layered over a sweater.

Let me know what you think about Montana Silversmith and if you liked what I showed you be sure to check out their website.

Anthropologie Mugs for $1!

Yet another thrifting haul...sorry not sorry.  I just love finding a good deal.  One of my recent finds was a pair of Anthropologie initial mugs.  Yes I did find one with my initial!  I also found one with my sister's initial that I am planning to give her for Christmas.

These mugs are $8 in store and I found them for...99 cents!!

The tell tale Anthropologie sign is this little bird...if you see that symbol you better snatch it up!

Chick-Fil-A Grilled Egg White and Cheese Muffin Taste Test Review

So you know I love my Chick-Fil-A, I have one of the calendar deal cards that give you a free treat (or treats) every month.
Side note...If you are a fan of Chick-Fil-A and don't have one make sure you get one in 2017, they are so worth it!  $8 for at least 12 deals.
My free treat for October was the new Grilled Egg White and Cheese Chicken English Muffin Sandwich.

This guy replaced the spicy chicken biscuit as a healthier option for breakfast.  It has a total of 300 calories and 25g of protein.  For fast food breakfast it's a pretty good option.

The sandwich consists of grilled chicken, egg white, and cheese on an english muffin.  Honestly I didn't love it.  The flavor was just ok.  I wasn't crazy about the chicken combined with everything.  I love a chick-fil-a chicken biscuit so I will definitely be sticking with that.

Have you tried the new sandwich yet?  What did you think of it?

Shoe Thrifting Haul

Another thrifting haul!  I found a couple pairs of shoes over the last couple of weeks and thought I would share them with you.  Ya'll these shoes were brand spankin' new and CHEAP!!

I picked up these adorable fringe suede American Eagle booties for $5!  I have already worn them a couple of times and I love them!  The fringe is such a cute touch.  I also found these Mossimo Supply Co. leopard flats for $2.  My favorite pair of leopard flats had actually died a couple of days before, so I was on the lookout for a replacement and low and behold I found a brand new pair!  Don't you love it when that happens :)

I also found this cute pair of cut out wedge sandals.  These are absolutely adorable and seriously I paid about $4 for them!

I also found a pair of Minnetonka moccasins that look a little battered in the pic but they are so nice and still had the sticker on them.  Ya'll they are so comfortable and I can't wait to pair them with some leggings in the fall.  Oh and I paid $3 for them...

Lastly I picked up this brand new pair of fuzzy sweater slippers for $1.  They are so soft and comfy and will be perfect for keeping my feet cozy and warm lounging around the house.

What have you thrifted lately?

Essie Nail Polish Clearance Finds for $2

Two of my favorite things: nail polish and clearance!  I stopped in Rite Aid randomly to pick up some Kleenex and decided to glance at their clearance section.  They had an extra 75% off on clearance going on and they had essie!

They had two bottles of essie polish for an original price of $9, but with a 75% off they were around $2 apiece!  You can't beat that price!

I picked up the colors Mink Muffs and Sew Psyched.  Mink Muffs is a really pretty brown with a slight purple tinge.  Sew Psyched is an army green with a slight gray tinge and a hint of shimmer.  They are both super pretty fall colors and I'm loving them!  I always love a good deal on good quality nail polish.  Definitely will be checking out the Rite Aid clearance section more often.

$500 worth of clothes for $40???

Y'all...I hit the Plato's Closet jackpot!  I have always been a fan of Plato's Closet, however, it can be hit or miss.  This time it was totally a HIT!  I actually follow them on instagram so I can keep up with any sales they have going on (you know I don't pay full price).  I found out they were having their clearance for $1.  I stopped by on my way home from work and guys I found so many cute things!

Yes that's right I saved $540, and that's just Plato's money guys.

OK so I am not going to show you everything I got but some of the standout pieces that I couldn't believe I found were:
  • Ann Taylor Loft Leggings
  • J Brand Jeans (I actually found multiple pairs)
  • Paper Denim & Cloth Jeans
  • True Religion Jeans
  • Show Me Your Mumu Dress
  • Juicy Couture Top
  • J.Crew Dress
  • Nasty Gal Dress
  • Hudson Jeans
  • 7 For All Mankind Jeans (again multiple pairs)
  • Citizens of Humanity Jeans
  • and a couple of Free People Tops and a Dress

I also picked up some American Eagle jeans and other brands but I was so excited to find such high quality brands for $1!  Seriously y'all some of those jeans are over $100??

I looked like the crazy lady with my arms piled up with clothes (I think I'm sore from carrying them around...shopping is my cardio right??).  When I lugged them up to the checkout the cashiers were pretty impressed with my finds and were commenting on how they couldn't believe I was getting them for $1.

If you have a Plato's Closet nearby run and check out their clearance!!

I got Jack Rogers for $5?!?

Ya'll I love thrifting.  I love the thrill of never knowing what you are going to find.  My most recent find was a pair of Jack Rogers Liliana sandals.  Ya'll these are brand new with tags from Belk.  They still had the clearance tag of $76 and an original price of $128...and I paid $5!

Again they weren't my size :( but I still snatched them up to hopefully sell on eBay or poshmark.

Brand new condition ya'll.  Such an awesome find!

DQ Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Taste Test Review

Hi my name is Erin and I am obsessed with all things pumpkin spice...
Yes I am basic but fall is my favorite!
Last year Dairy Queen came out with the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and I jumped on that bandwagon and absolutely fell in love!  I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of this delicious concoction this year.

Take a look at all this delicious ice cream goodness!

So for review, the basis of this dessert is an ice cream base, pieces of pie crust and what tastes like a piece of pumpkin pie blended in.  Of course it is sprinkled with a blend of spices and topped with whipped cream.  I have had other pumpkin pie based desserts but this one tops the chart.  The pumpkin pie flavor is so rich and has just enough spice and is deliciously creamy.  My favorite part was the crunchy pie crust pieces, I feel like it adds something else to the ice cream instead of it being super creamy and boring.

Verdict: Go try it!!

Designer shoes for $4?!?!

Y'all know good deals are my jam.  Well thrifting is one of my favorite things.  I love the thrill of the hunt, looking for treasures.  Sometimes you don't find anything and then sometimes you luck out with all the goodies.

Well I found an amazing find at my local thrift store...

That's right guys I found Manolo Blahnik suede loafers for $4!

They actually aren't my size but I had to get them anyway.  They are in excellent condition, barely worn.  I looked them up online and similar shoes were selling for $700?!?
Seriously $700 for shoes and I just picked up a pair for $4, this is why I thrift.

Let me know your best thrifting find!  I love hearing good thrifting stories for inspiration!

Get The Look for Less: J. Crew Excursion Vest Walmart Dupe

Unless you have been living under a rock you have probably seen the J. Crew Excursion vest in the beautiful herringbone print.  Once fall rolls around Instagram and Pinterest are flooded with pictures of this vest layered with all colors of plaid, sweaters, scarves and boots.  The J. Crew version is pricey at $70 but you can get a similar version from Walmart for $14!  It has the same beautiful herringbone print, no outlined pocket detail but really pretty quilted detail.  For less than $14, its an awesome deal!

McDonalds Pumpkin Spice Latte Taste Test Review

Ya'll it's Pumpkin Spice latte season and I am so excited!  I actually haven't had a PSL from Starbucks yet...
McDonald's has Pumpkin Spice lattes this year, I think they had them last year but this was my first time testing it out.  I was a little scared of it to be honest.
I got the small size since I was a little nervous about it.  Honestly it was pretty good.  It had a nice slightly spiced flavor.  It was a little sweet but not terrible.  I was a bad blogger and didn't take a picture of the inside but it is orange like Starbucks.  I still prefer Starbucks but this was a pretty good stand in.

I also had the Publix cashier tell me that they were a pretty good stand in for Starbucks :)

Verdict: If you're into pumpkin spice, it's a close second to Starbucks and worth a try.

Walmart deal finds

Y'all Walmart is my jam.  It has lots of hidden treasures and yes you can find cute fashion options there.  Don't be afraid of Walmart clothes they are not all Grandma baggy floral I promise.

How adorable is this pizza tank?  Pretty sure they had the same one at Target for more money...

Walmart is hitting the jackpot on some graphic tops, this one is adorable and $5??

Speaking to my own heart, coffee is my favorite.  I picked this one up and have been styling it on instagraminstagram.com/pinchofginger_ig.

Fall fashion is my absolute favorite!  I love layers and vests are some of my favorite pieces.  I spotted these fleece knit vests for $10 in multiple colors.  I'm loving the green and black ones.

Don't knock the handbag section.  How pretty is this blush bag?  Simple and under $10!

I'm loving these two bucket bags.  They have cute details like those tassels and side zips.  Under $20 you can't beat it.

Love the quilted detailing on this one and the nude color is so chic.

I have been looking for a cute backpack, this one is so classic and chic and the perfect size.

Another quilted bag, the gold details are so classy!  This one was on clearance for $11??

Walmart also got some higher class bags this season.  Big Buddha bags made there way to stores.  I love the tassel detail on these!  My husband did say that they looked like a deer tail but I think they are stinking cute.

They also had these cute fringe bags.  The squared off top is so fun!

Looking for a coffee cup or water bottle these are adorable.  How cute is the cat one??

Meh.  Believe in your Selfie and But First Coffee...Love them!

p.s. if anyone wants to get me something you can't go wrong with a personal princess carriage.

What have you found at Walmart lately?

Five Things Friday

Five Things Friday

Maybelline Warm Me Up: This lipstick has been my go to for weeks.  It was a recommendation from some friends and I am so glad I found it.  It is this really pretty nude mauve pink and I am obsessed with it!  With fall coming up the color is perfect for warming up your look :)

Felicity: So this show is an oldie.  I started watching this in college but never finished it.  It recently showed up on the ABC app and I had to start watching again.  Ahhh I forgot how much I loved this show!  It is so 90's, full of drama and I get so sucked into the story.  If you have never watched it, Felicity is a freshman in college.  She makes a life changing decision to follow her high school crush to New York for college.  There she makes friends, finds herself and gets into a crazy love triangle.  If you have never watched it, check it out.

Essie Armed and Ready: I have had this color for a few years and went through stages of like and dislike.  It is one of those weird colors that are really a little ugly (seriously this one looks like baby poop).  I like it with all it's ugliness.  It is a dark army green with just a slight shimmer.

Naturebox Praline Pumpkin Seeds: The pumpkin obsession continues with these delicious praline ones from Naturebox.  I had tried the Naturebox subscription service before and really enjoyed the snacks, they were just a little pricy to keep up.  Target started carrying them individually and every so often they go on a good sale.  I got these guys 40% off with the cartwheel app and used a $2 coupon bringing them to 25 cents each.  This is a crazy good deal for high quality healthier snacks.  These pumpkin seeds are so so good!  Not too sweet but still the perfect snack to satisfy that sweet craving.
Walmart Necklace: Walmart has really been stepping up there game lately and I am loving it.  I have found cute shirts, a bag and now this necklace.  I love anything turquoise, must come from my cowgirl background, this necklace was $5!  I love the beading, the tassel and the beautiful turquoise stone.  It feels like really good quality too.  I have been wearing it with dresses and tees but I can't wait to throw it on over some sweaters and pair it with my favorite boots.

What have you been loving lately?

Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Taste Test Review

Alright y'all pumpkin spice season is finally here!!  I'm that basic white girl who is gonna try everything pumpkin spice because I'm all about that fall life.

I'm sure all of you have seen this all over instagram, Cheerios has brought out Pumpkin Spice Cheerios for the season!!

I was wandering the aisles of Target and found this giant box on sale so you know it came home with me.

First off that box is perfectly fall and is a trap for all those fall loving girls...I totally fell for it.

It says it has real pumpkin puree, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg...

It smells really good, spicy, sweet and warm.  The flavor is pretty good.  It tastes like a crunchy pumpkin pie.  It can be a little spicy and my husband mentioned a weird aftertaste.
Verdict: If you are into all the pumpkin flavors go check it out.
